Zootopia 2 comes to theaters in a little over a week. A couple days ago was the world premiere of the movie which means we got the first critical reactions to come out of the film. What are the critics saying? Is this a win or another loss for Disney? Let’s talk!

My Thoughts: We have to take some of these early reviews with a grain of salt. Sometimes the early reviews for movies can be very different from the general public. I did one of these for The Running Man last week and the reviews once the movie has finally come out have been more polarizing. But there’s other examples of early reviews being very positive and the film itself being very good. In particular with Disney animation with their track record not being great, hearing positive early reviews for Zootopia 2 makes me excited that maybe this movie is really good. The fact that early reviews have come out a week and half before the movie comes out seems like a good sign. I’m excited for this movie, I really dig the original and think it’s one of Disney’s best animated movies of the last 15 years. The fact that we’re hearing more positive buzz about this sequel has me very excited to check it out. I think Zootopia 2 is going to make $1 billion, the original did and these animated sequels print money. If this movie is a win and it works I hope Disney learns from and makes more great movies and sequels like this. Once again, we’ll see what more critics think once press screenings start and if the movie is actually as good as these reviews are making it out to be. But as of now, it’s nice “confirmation” that maybe this movie will actually be really good and not another Disney disappointment.
