Daredevil: Born Again Renewed for Season 3 Months Ahead of Season 2 Premiere! My Thoughts! 

Daredevil: Born Again’s second season is set to premiere in March 2026. Just yesterday the show was renewed for season three. What does this mean for season two? Does it raise my expectations for season two? Let’s talk about it!

My Thoughts

So this has been something that’s been debated for a while now. Both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have said publicly that they were unsure if the show would get a season three. Yesterday, it was confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again was renewed for season three. There’s not much detail given about the renewal except that filming will start next year. So I’d guess this season will premiere in early 2027 and will probably keep the yearly season release that they’ve been doing so far. There’s also not any cast confirmed, but I’d imagine most of the usual suspects will be in the show. 

In general, what do I think of this? Well, there’s two things that come to mind when I hear this. 

First up, this news gives me even more confidence in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 because they renewed the show for season three months before season two premieres. We don’t have a set date for season two, but’s looking like it’ll be March 2026. I did a ranking of the upcoming MCU projects based on my excitement, season two was number one. With this news it only affirms its placement. Given that Disney seems to have a lot of confidence in season two, it makes me think it’s actually what fans wanted season 1 to be. There’s a lot of production issues that went on with season one and there was a lot in there that I enjoyed, but also a number of things that left me frustrated. The two best episodes of the season were the final two episodes of the season and those episodes were 100% a part of the new creative team being brought in to make the show the fans wanted. The people that did the final two episodes are the people that are doing the ENTIRETY of season two so I think it’s going to be great. Adding on top of that, the fact that Disney decided to renew a third season this far in advance doubles down on me being extremely excited to check out season two. 

Second, the other thing that I love about it is that it shows that they’re really going all in with Marvel Netflix into the MCU on Disney+. Next year we’re getting season two of Born Again as well as a Special Presentation starring Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. We know that Jessica Jones is returning for season two. I’m just curious what other character they will bring into Born Again and maybe build up to another Defenders type show. Maybe it’ll be announced that Luke Cage and/or Iron Fist is coming back, that could be cool.
