7 MORE Rotten Movies I Like

7 MORE Rotten Movies I Like

One of my first ever blog posts was sharing 7 MORE Rotten Movies I like…so finally, after almost 2 years here is part 2. Let’s get started!

  • A Knight’s Tale (59%): This is a comedy from over 20 years ago, and it’s about a peasant trying to prove himself to this girl, by doing all of these tasks. It’s a really funny movie that has some solid laughs. And it has characters in the movie singing real life songs, “We Will Rock You” is played at one point. It has a young Heath Ledger inside of it, about 7 years before The Dark Knight came out. Paul Bettany and Alan Tudyk are some of Ledger’s friends in the movie. I believe this movie is on Netflix, if you haven’t seen it go check it out. It’s a really funny movie that doesn’t get talked about enough. And I’m not really sure why its Rotten Tomato score isn’t much better.

  • F9 (59%): As you guys know, I’m a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise. And this latest one, F9 really seemed to divide audiences and just turns a bunch of fans love for this franchise. But as for me, after waiting over a year for this movie to come out…I got what I wanted. It’s a big dumb action movie with Dom and his friends, sorry his family doing these big over the top action sequences with cars. It’s not great cinema, it’s not trying to win any Oscars here but all I wanted was an entertaining dumb action movie, and that is what I got. The movie delivered what the trailers promised. So I get why this one doesn’t have a high Rotten Tomato score, but this was actually one of my favorite films of the franchise.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) (41%): This is one that I don’t believe I’ve talked about on my blog, but I’ve seen this movie a number of times and I do enjoy it. It’s a fun 90s superhero movie and they do a great job of characterizing the Turtles themselves. And it does have some heartfelt moments here and there in the movie. And back about 6 or 7 years ago, my dad and I attended a pizza making class and while we ate the pizzas we made we actually watched this movie. And so I do have some fond memories watching this movie, and this is another one that I’m a bit confused as to why it’s only at 41%. If it was up to me, I would give it a positive score on Rotten Tomatoes.

  • Don’t Look Up (55%): One of last year’s Best Picture nominees and this is a super polarizing movie. This is one that I can totally understand why it’s near 50%, because some people are going to love this movie and other people are going to hate it. And I really dug it, I thought that it was a very funny movie with a great cast. But with its politics, I didn’t find that it lectured people with its message involving politics. And it’s interesting because of the best picture nominees, this is the one that feels like the odd one out. It doesn’t really fit or match with the other nominees. But I think it was one of the better ones, I had it at number 2 on that list.

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (53%): Now the original Pirates of the Caribbean movie, The Curse of the Black Pearl is one of my favorite movies of all time. I love that movie, and easily the best of the franchise. And the sequels are a little all over the place. I think the 2 Gore Verbinski sequels are good…I do like them. They are ambitious, they are large in scale but they are flawed. The 4th one isn’t very good, and the 5th one is ok. But the second movie in the franchise I think is the best sequel and it is a good movie. It’s a great looking movie with a bunch of great looking visuals. It’s also just great to see more Jack Sparrow and be in this world of Pirates and likable characters. And I do appreciate the opening 20-25 minutes of this movie, with Jack Sparrow and his friends on that island.

  • Wonder Woman 1984 (58%): One of the most polarizing superhero movies out there. When the first reviews started to drop they were almost very positive, with some other people saying it was better then the first movie. But as more and more reviews started to trickle in, its reviews started to go a bit downhill. But as for me, I like this movie. I only watched it one time in December 2020, but I haven't rewatched it yet. But I dug it, I liked it, I thought it was very entertaining. It is flawed, it’s not a perfect movie where people’s disappointment comes from. But when people said it was one of the worst comic book movies of all time, that is when I get a bit confused and don’t get it. But overall, I think it does have a lot to offer. And to an extent, I can understand the low Rotten Tomatoes score.

  • Eternals (47%): The first MCU movie to ever get a rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. And this is another super polarizing movie, where some people are calling it a masterpiece and other aren’t people aren’t even liking it. As for me, I like this movie. I do think it is a good movie. I like how ambitious it is, it does go for it, and it is something different for the MCU. And it’s also the best looking MCU movie out there. But this movie does have some big issues with its story and storytelling. It wants to treat all 10 Eternals as main characters, and in doing so none of them get fleshed out enough. Which means that things happen to characters before they are really introduced into the story. So I think this movie would have worked better as a Disney show rather than a movie. So I can understand why it has a low Rotten Tomatoes score, but I like the movie.

There you have it, 7 MORE Rotten Movies I Like. Which rotten movie do you like? Also, remember to check out part 1. Thanks for reading!
