Top 10 Favorite Avengers Endgame Moments

Top 10 Favorite Avengers Endgame Moments

That is the 3 year anniversary of the biggest movie of all time, Avengers Endgame. If you’ve seen any of my favorites lists or MCU rankings, you know that I love this movie. So today, here are my 10 favorite moments from Avengers Endgame. Thanks for reading!

10. “I went for the head…”: Now one of the most surprising things about this movie, was just how quickly we got the plot of the movie. Tony is back on Earth and reunited with Steve and Pepper within the first 10 minutes, I wasn’t expecting that. And certainly, I wasn’t expecting that big twist that they took things about 20 minutes in where The Avengers go and confront Thanos, and this angry and depressed Thor kills Thanos. He takes a full on swing to the head and de-heads Thanos. And then says “I went for the head”, a joke that was made after Infinity War came out. So it’s not this big and epic moment of the movie, like I’ll talk about later on during this ranking. But it’s a super memorable moment that was pretty shocking to watch for the first time opening night.

9. Hulk’s Snap: This is another moment that isn’t a big flashy fan service moment, but it’s a super memorable and super important moment for the plot. Where Hulk is the one that bring everybody back, he snaps his fingers to undo what Thanos did 5 years earlier in this timeline. And it works, everybody came back and it’s done so well in this movie. Where Hawkeye gets a call from his wife and then you have Ant-Man walk over to a window and see birds chirping on a tree. The way they indicated that it worked and everybody was back was handled so well, this is one of the most powerful moments of the entire movie. And like I said, in a movie that has about 10 billion moments of fan service, this moment stands out.

8. The Big Three vs Thanos: Speaking of not being blg flashy fan service moments, this moment is not one of them. After Hulk brings everybody back, Thanos attacks The Avengers Compound and everybody get separated. But you have Tony, Steve, and Thor are be in the general area and since they are the big 3 of the MCU, they are the ones that start the finale with Thanos. And you get this shot of the three of them walking up to Thanos and when this moment started was really when I knew the finale to this movie was going to be something special. And it’s even cooler when the three of them haven’t teamed up just by themselves before. They are the big 3, but this moment hasn’t happened in the MCU up to this point in time.

7. Tony’s Funeral: What works so well about this scene is the music and the fact that nobody here talks. Not a single word is spoken during this scene, and I think that’s really why it pops and stands out. Is they just let you sit in this moment and see all of the MCU heroes honoring and being there for Tony Stark, honoring his legacy. That is when you have a great death moment when you feel that his presence is still there, when you feel that his legacy through this scene. And I would argue that this is one of the best directed scenes by The Russo Brothers out there inside of the MCU.

6. Steve’s dance with Peggy: What I love what they did with this movie, and is tie this movie back to other MCU movies. What was set up at the end of Captain America the First Avenger, Captain America’s first movie in the MCU, he wanted a dance with Peggy. They talked about, scheduled it both knowing that he wasn’t going to make it. So they have this little moment earlier in the movie when Steve and Tony are back in the 1940s, and Steve accidentally goes into Peggy’s office. And that little moment, that easily could have been a throw away moment set up Steve’s closure for the MCU. Where he has to send back The Infinity Stones, and he stops back in the 1940s and lives out his days with Peggy. He got his dance with Peggy, and it was such a perfect way to close out Steve’s arc in the MCU. And it’s a great way to end this movie.

5. Black Widow’s Sacrafice: Now after seeing Black Widow and Hawkeye this moment became even more potent and emotional. Because when this scene starts you have Black Widow and Hawkeye on Voldmir getting the Soul Stone. And it takes you a second to realize, there is only one way to get the Soul Stone. One of them has to die, and it’s this tense moment when you they are fighting each other wanting themselves to die. And Black Widow is the ony to bite the dust, she’s the one that dies. And I think they made the right choice because Hawkeye still had a character arc to be completed, and it was completed because of this moment. It was a great and emotional moment that was unexpected, but it worked for me.

4. Captian America vs Captain America: Now when the movie started to go back in time, is really when I started to love this movie. And you have 2023 Captain America walking around Stark Tower and he runs into 2012 Captain America. And when this moment first started when I saw this movie for the first time my theater went nuts, and so did I. And both of them are very experienced fighters so obviously, it’s a very good fight. And there are 2 really funny moments in this scene where 2012 Captain America goes “I can do this all day”, and 2023 Captain America goes “Yah I know”. And then the other one is 2023 Captain America looks over at 2012 Captain America’s ass after getting the upper hand and says “that is America’s Ass”. Set by a little Ant-Man joke just a few minutes earlier.

3. “I Am Iron Man”: Now going into this movie, I knew that either Iron Man or Captain America were going to die. I didn’t have a good prediction as to which one I thought was going to die, but one did. Obviously, that was Tony Stark and I think it was a proper and satisfying ending to his character arc. And it’s done in one of the most epic and most satisfying ways, where Tony Stark snaps his fingers with The Infinity Gauntlet and he dusts Thanos and all of his force, and the moment when Thanos dies is so satisfying and is what both Infinity War and Endgame and the entire MCU for that matter have been leaning towards. So all in all it’s satisfying and a proper end to Tony’s character arc.

2. Captain America is Worthy!: Another Captain America moment that was set up in a previous MCU movie. Where in Age of Ultron, The Avengers are having a party and messing around and trying to pick up Thor’s hammer. None of them do, but Captain America does come close to doing it. And in the finale of this movie, Captain America gets his moment and picks up Thor’s hammer. And this is one of the truely special moments inside of the MCU, and one of the biggest crowd reactions I’ve ever gotten in a theater. Like I couldn’t hear anything for a solid 10-15 seconds after this moment happened. And I was cheering, clapping, and had the biggest smile on my face when this moment went down. And it’s one of those moments, that I never knew how much I actually wanted this moment.

1. “Avengers…Assemble!”: Come on, did you expect anything else to be number 1? This is one of the truely special moments in cinematic history. And it’s probably my favorite movie moment of all time. Where it starts with Captain America just standing down Thanos’ army and you have “Cap, can you read me?” And it’s Sam’s voice, and you realize that all of the heroes are coming back and a portal opens up and you see Black Panther, Okoye, and Shuri come through the portal. And you have the great score by Alan Slivestri which is epic and possibly the piece of movie music that I’ve listened to the most times. And finally after 11 years, you finally have Captain America or anybody in the MCU for that matter saying “Avengers Assemble” inside of the MCU. So easily, without question this is the moment that I think works the most. And it’s the moment that puts the biggest grin on my face.

There you have it, my 10 favorite Avengers Endgame moments. Which moment from this epic movie is your favorite? Thanks for reading!
