Peacemaker Season 1 Episodes Ranked

Peacemaker Season 1 Episodes Ranked

We finally got the conclusion to season 1 of Peacemaker. So in today’s blog post I’m going to be ranking all 8 episodes of the show. Let’s get started!

8. Better Goff Dead (Episode 3): Of the first three episodes, this is the one that properly moved the plot forward the most. We got a better understanding of what Project Butterfly is, where the episode ends really sets up the last 5 episodes of the season. And you see the more human side of Peacemaker when he has a difficult decision in front of him, you can see him trying to figure out what to do. Where this one gets held back is I just didn’t really care for the stuff with the senator in the mansion in the last 15 minutes of the episode. I just didn’t find it all that interesting with what they were trying to do. It wasn’t bad stuff by any means but I do think that was the big issue with the episode. But all in all this was still a good and fun episode of the show. No hate is thrown to this episode what so ever.

7. Murn After Reading (Episode 6): Now I know this is an episode that seems to be one of the more fan favorite episodes of the show. But it’s still a very good episode with a lot to offer. But for whatever reason, the other episodes brought out more from me. I did like that we saw Peacemaker not really trusting the team all that much. And it helped provide more of a human side to Peacemaker, something that this show as a whole has done really well. I really like the bromance between Peacemaker and Vigilante, they have some really cool funny moments. And I think this is one of the best usages of Auggie Smith, Peacemaker’s dad in the show. As we get the start of his big master plan for the season. So this episode really set up the final 2 episodes really well, and overall this is a very good episode.

6. Monkey Dory (Episode 5): If this episode is only number 6 on the list, then this is a great show. Because this episode continues to really humanize Peacemaker as a character. And I like the dynamic between Peacemaker and Adebayo in this show and specifically this episode as two people who trust each other and respect each other. And that 5 minute sequence of them talking in Peacemaker’s house is one of the best moments of the entire show in my opinion. Also, it’s nice to see the team working together better with the dynamic going on here. And it’s nice to see Peacemaker go up against a Batman villain, I won’t spoil who it is. But it was a nice surprise that I hope we get more of this character outside of this show. So all in all a great episode that I thoroughly enjoyed.

5. A Whole New Whirled (Episode 1): A very fun and entertaining start to this show. Maybe the biggest compliment I can give this episode is that it is just trying to put a big smile on your face. This show establishes very quickly that this is a tv show aiming for an older audience. It’s not a show for anybody that is younger than 16, it’s a rated R superhero show. And I like that, it’s not trying to please everybody. John Cena is obviously having a lot of fun playing this anti-hero that is just trying to live a normal life after leaving prison. And he just gets these great moments that will put a smile on your face. But I think the episode was too much of a set up, I wanted more from it. It felt like all jokes and set-up but not anything beyond that. That is really the only thing holding this episode back, I had a blast with this episode.

4. Best Friends, For Never (Episode 2): I found this to be a great follow-up episode to episode 1. And what I thought this episode did right was get the friendship between Peacemaker and Vigilante just right. They have this really fun dynamic between the two of them and it really worked for me. Just in general, Vigilante is a really fun character that has this great personality about him. You also get some great action with Peacemaker trying to escape the apartment building. It's a really well done scene. And I like how the episode made us understand Peacemaker’s father a bit more and his involvement in some of the evil organizations of the show. So overall, this was a great episode of the show and one of the best episodes of the show in my opinion.

3. The Choad Less Traveled (Episode 4): For me, this was one of the most well rounded of the episodes on the show. And this is probably the most character driven episode of the entire show. Where we understand more of who he is as a person and what he values the most. And the scene where he starts to cry as he is listening to music is one of the best scenes of the entire show. Some of the stuff they do with Vigilante and grounding him more as a person really did work for me. And you still get plenty of the James Gunn humor but it’s more on the back burner. The character moments and character development are more front and center in this episode. I appreciated that a good bit. So this was one of my favorite episodes of the bunch, and just a great episode overall.

2. It’s Cow or Never (Episode 8): The season finale for season 1 was a great episode. It’s an episode that started off a bit slow but once things got going, things got going. But the entire episode had some really funny jokes that made me laugh. The back half of the episode is filled with some great action set pieces, the big stand out being the one with Peacemaker, Harcourt, and Vigilante taking down the butterflies. You also get some great heartfelt and emotional moments here that worked for me. And I loved the big cameo at the end of the episode, that was a nice joke payoff. So all in all, this was a great season finale to season 1 that I thoroughly enjoyed.

1. Stop Dragon My Heart Around (Episode 7): You have three things going on in this episode. First up, you have Peacemaker, Vigilante, and Economos trying to escape Peacemaker’s father, White Dragon. Second, you have Peacemaker trying not to be caught by the police. Third, the police were involved with Murn and all of it was very interesting and well done. I love the moments between Peacemaker and his father in this episode and thought they evoked a fair amount of emotion when it happened. Also, this might be the most emotional of the episodes with some of the moments in the back half of the episode really tug at your heart strings. So all in all, this was an episode that I thoroughly enjoyed. And while all of these episodes were really good, this was the one that stood out the most. Put all of it together, this was my favorite episode of season 1.

There you have it, my ranking of the Peacemaker season 1 episodes. Which episode was your favorite? I already did a season review. Thanks for reading!
