Live Action Star Wars Seasons Ranked

Live Action Star Wars Seasons Ranked

We finally got the conclusion to The Book of Boba Fett. It’s the third live action Star Wars season to finish. So in today’s blog post I’m going to be ranking the two seasons of The Mandalorian as the first season of The Book of Boba Fett.

3. The Book of Boba Fett Season 1: This was such a frustrating and disappointing season. This show has such bad storytelling and because of that nothing in this show feels developed all that much. What happens in the finale is not at all set up in the show. Because the episode wants to be a show about Boba Fett but also a set-up season for The Mandalorian season 3. When Cad Bane is defeated you don’t care about it, you don’t feel anything. Also, the show is really lacking in character development for everybody. Sure, we do learn more about Boba Fett but none of it makes him more interesting or develops him as a character. It’s just giving us information that we could have gone without. But on the positive side, I like being in the world of Star Wars and I appreciated that this show was something new and different from Star Wars. But as a whole, I found this season to be really frustrating, disappointing, and messy. Maybe in the future I might do a pitch on how to fix this show. Because I can picture a better show from what they set-up in the first few episodes of the show.

2. The Mandalorian Season 1: A very solid start to The Mandalorian. Probably the biggest compliment I can give this season is that it is something new and different in the world of Star Wars. It’s a full blown western in the world of Star Wars, that is something that hasn’t happened yet. And they did a great job of laying the foundation for the show with the darker tone and the vibe of the show. It’s also a show that has a great and fun set of characters. The Mandalorian is this bounty hunter that has a very narrow world view and follows The Mandalorian creed that he must live by. But he’s still this super interesting character that you want to know more about. And of course you have the legendary Baby Yoda who is just this super cute and memorable character that became an iconic instantly in the first episode of the season. And I also appreciated that this show doesn’t have these sky high stakes with the whole galaxy being put in jeopardy but it’s about a bounty hunter trying to collect his bounty. Where I think this one gets held back, is this feels very much like a set-up season, setting up everything for the next seasons to build off of. That I think is a bit unfortunate and it does hold back the season for me. But in general, this is a very good season of the show.

1. The Mandalorian Season 2: For me, this is the most well rounded of these seasons. Since season 1 felt like all set-up, this season can just dive straight into the story and that really does help the season. For me, it feels like a more focused season with a more focused arc for The Mandalorian. And they really do give The Mandalorian a great arc that changes him as a character with what happens to Baby Yoda in the season (don’t worry nothing bad happens to those who haven’t seen this season). And of course, this season is filled with cameos from previously established characters and they tie into the story of the season. They aren’t just there for fan fiction or to put a smile on your face. When Ashoka Tona appears she gives information that helps The Mandalorian with the rest of the season. And all of the storylines, plot points, and character arcs all lead to this epic and awesome season finale that had me both cheering and crying at the same time. I don’t want to spoil anything for you, but if you’ve seen the episode then you could guess why I just loved that episode. With where this season ended things has me curious as to where they are taking this in season 3 later this year.
