5 Loki Theories I Have
We are ⅓ or the way through Loki, the latest Disney Marvel show. And tomorrow episode 3 drops on Disney+ And over the two episodes, a number of theories have come to my head. So today I’m going to be sharing 3 Loki theories I have.
NOTE: This will contain SPOILERS for both episodes 1 and 2 of Loki. So if you haven’t seen those episodes, don’t read this blog post. Go watch episodes 1 and 2 (both are pretty great by the way), then come and read this.
1. Mobius is up to something: One of the big stand-outs of the show so far is Owen Wilson’s Mobius, Wilson’s chemistry with Tom Hiddelston is on point and really funny at points in time. But in episode 2, I was getting the feeling that Mobius was hiding something from Loki and the TVA. My prediction, he’s going to turn evil towards the end of the show. Mobius kept on telling the judge character (I don’t remember her name) that he wants to work closely with Loki on this mission. And he kept on saying that, and I think he wants to gain Loki’s trust, Loki will help Mobius with something. Only to learn that he helped Mobius do something evil. And I think in the coming episodes, Mobius will turn on Loki and the TVA. Members of the TVA has said they don’t trust Loki, well after Mobius’ turn Loki will team-up with the TVA to defeat Mobius. And something else to add, maybe Mobius is one of the Time Keepers.
2. Loki went undercover for the TVA: The final 10ish minutes of episode 2 is maybe the best sequence of the show so far. The end of episode 1 ended with it being revealed why Mobius wanted to work with Loki, he was hunting down a different version of Loki. At the end of episode 2 it’s revealed the different version of Loki is female, Lady Loki. Lady Loki escapes through a portal, and regular Loki follows her. My guess is before Loki, Mobius, and TVA agents went to Alabama, Loki and Mobius had a plan as to what Loki was going to do if they caught the variant. Therefore, Loki is going undercover to gain Lady Loki’s trust and report information back to Mobius to help defeat Lady Loki, or to have Mobius gain more information for his plan to continue.
3. Lady Loki is Enchantress: So like I said, episode 2 ends with Lady Loki being introduced. But her look, whether it’s her costume or her hair looked like Enchantress. If you don’t know who Enchantress is, she’s a villain from Marvel Comics, and she is a Thor villain. If they want to expand the universe, introduce characters in the MCU. Multiverse and time travel could be an interesting way to do it, and this show could be a clever way to introduce Enchantress into the mix. Beyond that, Enchantress has magical powers, and it could be very interesting to have Enchantress' magic face-off against Loki’s magic. And tied to that, maybe Lady Loki is working with Mobius.
4. “Multiverse of Madness" starts in this show: In episode 1 we get introduced to the Miss Minutes character, and she’s introduced through this little cartoon talking about the TVA and the Time Keepers. One of the things that was mentioned was if the timeline wasn’t put in check then a multiverse war will break-out. Well, the sequel to Doctor Strange 2 is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. If a multiverse war breaks out, it will be madness. Kevin Feige even said “this show will have the biggest impact on the MCU out of the three Disney Marvel shows so far”. So Loki I think could easily be one of the most important pieces inside Phase 4 of the MCU. And setting up the Multiverse of Madness could be a key piece in that.
5. Heimdall will return: I always enjoy it when Idris Elba shows up, whether it’s the MCU, The Office, or Hobbs and Shaw he’s always very good. And I like the character of Heimdall, he’s such this interesting character that has potential to be used more. But episode 2 ended with time bombs being spread across time and space, maybe Loki gets help from Heimdall to travel from place to place to stop the time bombs, Heimdall could use the bifrost. I know the TVA has devices that can make travel through-out time, but the TVA will need any help we can get, and getting Heimdall could be just that. I don’t know if Heimdall would return in this show, but I would be down if he does.
